Oyo State Fire Service Recovers Two Bodies from Wells

Oyo State, Nigeria — The Oyo State Fire Service has reported the recovery of two bodies from separate wells across the state. One body was located in Saki, while the other was found in Ogbomoso.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, detailed that a 45-year-old man was retrieved from a deep well in the Mokola area of Saki on Monday. The incident occurred while he was attempting to rescue a goat that had fallen into the well.

Akinwande noted that emergency response teams acted swiftly during the operation, utilizing necessary equipment to secure the area and recover the victim.

Additionally, Akinwande reported that a 30-year-old man, identified as Shina Adedeji, was discovered in a well in the Aje Ikose area of Ogbomoso on Tuesday. Fire service personnel were dispatched to the scene where they confirmed the recovery of Adedeji’s body.

The Oyo State Fire Service continues to urge residents to exercise caution around wells and other hazardous areas.
