Security foils classroom theft, arrests suspect in Plateau
Federal University of Education, Pankshin, Foils Theft; Suspect Apprehended
PANKSHIN, Plateau State — Security personnel at the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP), thwarted an alleged theft on campus on Wednesday, resulting in the arrest of a suspect.
The incident occurred during a heavy rainstorm when the suspect was reportedly attempting to steal electrical bulbs and other appliances from a classroom.
Charles Nda Homsuk, the university’s Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, confirmed the arrest on Thursday, crediting the rapid response of the security staff. They successfully recovered the stolen items.
The suspect has been handed over to local authorities for further investigation and potential prosecution. Homsuk emphasized the university’s commitment to safeguarding both lives and property through proactive security measures.
