My biggest fear is not knowing when to quit music – Davido

Afrobeats Star Davido Reveals Fear of Career Decline

Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has shared his greatest apprehension regarding his music career. In a recent video broadcast, he expressed concerns about not knowing when to step away from the industry.

Davido reflected on the unpredictable nature of celebrity status, noting that many stars who once enjoyed significant success have fallen from grace. He emphasized the importance of mental health, proposing the establishment of a therapy center specifically for those who have experienced such declines.

“If there is one thing I could build, I would build a therapy centre for people who were popular and very successful,” Davido said. “It is crazy to be on top of the world and, the next moment, you are not.”

He cited examples from the world of sports, referencing his friend Cristiano Ronaldo, and highlighted a tendency for public scrutiny regardless of past achievements. “Even in soccer, winning titles like the World Cup and the Champions League may not seem enough,” he added. “After everything Ronaldo has done for football, he was still criticized for his exit from the World Cup.”

Davido concluded by expressing gratitude for his career and his desire for guidance in knowing the right time to retire from music. “I have worked so hard, and I pray to God every day to show me the right time to pack it up,” he said.
