Afrobeats artist Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, known professionally as Bella Shmurda, has refuted claims that he fell victim to a $4 million property scam in Lagos.
Reports circulated on social media suggested that the musician became emotional during an Instagram Live session, appealing for help regarding an alleged fraudulent real estate transaction.
In response to the rumors, Bella Shmurda labeled the reports as false, asserting that he was not scammed. He emphasized his wellbeing and happiness, stating, “Fake news!! I wasn’t scammed. Trust bloggers @ your own risk. Doing fine and happy. Peace & Love,” in an Instagram story on Friday.
His clarification has addressed concerns raised by fans following the initial reports, assuring them of his welfare.
