Social media influencer, Andrew Tate, brother arrested in US over alleged sex trafficking

Andrew and Tristan Tate Arrested in Miami Amid International Extradition Efforts
Miami, FL – Social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, were arrested on Saturday by the United States Marshals Service in Miami. Their arrest comes as authorities in the United Kingdom seek their extradition on new charges that include rape, sex trafficking, and assault.
The Marshals Service did not release specific details regarding the charges, citing a sealed arrest warrant. However, the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that Andrew Tate is facing seven new counts of rape, in addition to charges related to sex trafficking and the possession of indecent images of a child.
Tristan Tate has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. According to Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Police, the Tate brothers now face a total of 59 criminal charges between them.
The alleged offenses are reported to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017. Both Andrew and Tristan Tate have denied all allegations against them.
UK prosecutors announced that extradition proceedings will commence to return the dual British-American citizens to the UK for trial. “These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven,” said Malcolm McHaffie, head of the Special Crime Division at the CPS.
The investigation by Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Police is described as a “complex investigation.” As a result, 38 new charges have been authorized against the brothers, increasing Andrew Tate’s total to 42 charges in the UK, while Tristan Tate faces 17 charges.
In 2024, Bedfordshire Police secured European arrest warrants for both brothers, seeking their return from Romania, where they have been living and are also under separate criminal investigation.
In June, the Tate brothers attempted to compel authorities to disclose the identities of their UK accusers; however, the CPS ruled that the names of the alleged victims would remain confidential until formal legal proceedings commence.
