Burna Boy becomes first male artiste to top Spotify’s Global Music Video Chart
Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, has made history by becoming the first male artist to reach the top spot on Spotify’s newly launched Global Music Video Chart. His World Cup anthem “Dai Dai,” featuring Shakira, achieved this milestone, marking him as the first African artist to do so.
In addition to this achievement, “Dai Dai” has reached a peak position of number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Analysts anticipate that the song could break into the top 10 following Burna Boy and Shakira’s performance during the World Cup Final Halftime Show on Sunday.
The music video for “Dai Dai” holds the title of the most-streamed music video of 2026 on YouTube, accumulating nearly half a billion views. The song has also reached the number one spot on Apple Music’s Global Songs Chart.
With the success of “Dai Dai,” Burna Boy has further solidified his status as the African artist with the most monthly listeners in Spotify’s history, boasting over 53 million monthly listeners. He also set a new record on YouTube Music, amassing over 600 million monthly listeners.
