Nigerian music artist manager Ubi Franklin has opened up about his struggles with mental health, revealing a past suicide attempt on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. Despite his success in the music industry, Franklin spoke candidly about the emotional challenges he faced following his marriage to ex-wife Lilian Esoro.

In a video posted to his Instagram account, Franklin shared his experiences to raise awareness about mental health issues. He described his feelings of embarrassment and depression after Esoro ended their marriage, pointing out that, despite a successful career, he felt deserving of the turmoil he encountered.

“Not every love story ends the way you imagined,” Franklin stated, explaining that he had attempted suicide multiple times before being rescued by his cousin, Omini Stitches. He recalled a specific instance when he drove to the Third Mainland Bridge with the intention of taking his life.

“I have like the biggest artist in the country at the time. Everything was fine, so I just felt like it was time for me to settle down,” he said. Despite the pain, Franklin emphasized the importance of co-parenting their son and cherishing the positive outcomes of his previous relationship.

He urged viewers not to harbor resentment towards those who have hurt them, stating, “Sometimes it is just an opportunity for you to learn from the process and keep it moving.” Franklin expressed his continued support for Esoro, wishing her success in her endeavors.
