Femi Kuti Declines Photo Opportunity with Korra Obidi to Avoid Controversy

LAGOS – Musician Femi Kuti has expressed a desire to steer clear of any online controversies involving celebrity dancer Korra Obidi. His comments came after a live concert in Lagos, where he humorously declined to take pictures with her.

Kuti’s decision follows a recent incident involving Obidi, who faced scrutiny for her twerking tribute at the gravesite of Fela Kuti during a visit in December 2025.

In an Instagram video shared by Obidi on Friday, Kuti stated that he is currently dealing with enough personal challenges and prefers to avoid further complications. “I don’t want any problems in my life. I have enough problems,” he said, urging his sister, Yeni Kuti, to join them in the photo to mitigate potential backlash. He added, “Seems the gods don’t even want this picture, that’s why it’s raining.”

Obidi captioned the video, “Uncle Femi doesn’t want Wahala. Yesterday after my private Live concert, I met the legends @femiakuti and @yeniakuti at Legacy Studios. I am so honored. Thank you @bigbirdkuti.”
