The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed its support for President Bola Tinubu’s establishment of four new Army divisions throughout the country, according to a statement released by the organization.
The NGF referred to this initiative as the most significant expansion of the Nigerian Army in modern history. The statement emphasized that this development reflects the President’s renewed commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and property.
“We wholeheartedly welcome this development, including the President’s approval for the Army to recruit 28,000 new personnel and acquire additional military assets. We believe this initiative will bolster the government’s efforts in counterterrorism and anti-banditry,” the statement read.
The Forum reiterated its commitment to collaborating with the President on national security and various issues related to national development.
Additionally, the NGF called on citizens to support the government and security forces in enhancing safety across the nation, encouraging them to provide timely information to security agencies.
