Nollywood Actress Bukky Wright Advocates for Financial Empowerment in Relationships

Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has encouraged women to embrace their financial desires in relationships and not shy away from having high expectations of their partners.

During a recent appearance on The Moraya Show, Wright addressed what she termed the hypocrisy of men who label women with financial demands as “gold diggers.” She asserted that it is acceptable for women to seek partners who meet their standards.

“There is nothing wrong with being a gold digger,” Wright stated. “I advise young women to not settle for anything less than gold.”

Wright challenged men to pursue relationships with women they can support financially, suggesting that they should avoid shaming those who seek more than they can provide. “If you cannot afford a woman, do not engage with her. Choose someone within your financial reach,” she advised.

Reflecting on her own experiences, Wright noted, “When I was growing up, we seldom dated our peers because the question was, ‘What can you offer?’ If a man is with a woman whose status exceeds his own, it can lead to complications. My advice is to live within your means.”
