Nigerian Artist 2Baba Acknowledges Shortcomings in Fatherhood

Innocent Idibia, widely recognized as 2Baba, has openly discussed his struggles with fatherhood, acknowledging that he has not fulfilled his parental responsibilities as he would like. The acclaimed Nigerian singer, who has eight children with four different partners, made these remarks during a recent episode of the Mic On podcast hosted by journalist Seun Okinbaloye.

Reflecting on his experiences, 2Baba emphasized the vital role of a present father figure in children’s lives, expressing his desire to improve his contributions as a father. He indicated a commitment to both personal growth and a focus on privacy regarding his family matters.

“I have not been the best daddy. I want to do more. However, privacy is very important,” he stated during the podcast.

The singer shares two children with his first partner, Sumbo Ajaba-Adeoye; three with his second partner, Pero Adeniyi; two with his wife, Annie Macaulay; and one with his current spouse, Natasha Osawaru.

Additionally, 2Baba has been candid about past missteps in both his career and personal life. He expressed regrets over certain decisions and experiences he wishes he could revisit. He also addressed a heated incident in London that resulted in his arrest in October 2025, taking full responsibility for the situation, which he described as a moment of anger that escalated beyond his control.

Despite his challenges, 2Baba remains focused on his goal of making a positive impact in society.
