Why I don’t want any of my children to make music – Davido

Nigerian Musician Davido Prefers Children Avoid Music Careers
Nigerian artist David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has expressed reservations about his children pursuing careers in music.
In a recent episode of The Vibe podcast, the musician, who has six children, shared insights into his decision based on personal experience. Davido noted that while his second daughter, Hailey Veronica Adeleke, shows an interest in music and possesses vocal talent, he remains hesitant to encourage her.
“I don’t want any of my children to pursue music. My second daughter [Hailey] is already leaning towards music. She is the life of the party and behaves just like me,” he said. “But I know what I went through. Can you go through what I went through? Knowing what I have been through, I’m skeptical about encouraging any of my children to do music.”
Despite his concerns, Davido acknowledged the importance of supporting his children’s aspirations. “Because my parents and my family eventually allowed me to chase my dreams, I would never want to block any of my children from pursuing their dreams. And if they are good, why not?” he added.
