Oyo State Police Arrest 65-Year-Old Man for Alleged Defilement
IBADAN — The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 65-year-old man in connection with the alleged defilement of a six-year-old girl.
The police announcement, made on Tuesday by Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade, details that the alleged incidents occurred multiple times throughout December 2025, while the victim was hawking goods in the Onikeke area of Ayegun, Ibadan.
Ayanlade stated that the suspect, identified as Ibrahim Raheem, has confessed to indecently assaulting the child but denied any involvement in sexual intercourse.
Following the allegations, the victim has been taken to a hospital for a thorough medical examination and to receive psychosocial support for the trauma she experienced.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are committed to ensuring the prosecution of those responsible for such crimes.
