30 Killed in Road Accident Involving Trailer in Kano State
KANO, Nigeria — A tragic road accident early Sunday morning claimed the lives of at least 30 passengers in the Kwanar Barde area of Gezawa Local Government. A trailer reportedly lost control while heading toward Gujungu, resulting in the deadly crash, which has left many others seriously injured.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, describing the event as a heartbreaking loss for both the affected families and the broader community in Kano State. The governor’s remarks were conveyed in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
In light of the incident, Governor Yusuf ordered immediate medical assistance for the survivors. He vowed that the Kano State Ministry of Health would ensure all victims receive prompt and free medical care.
The governor also requested prayers for the deceased and offered hopes for a swift recovery for those hospitalized. He directed the Office of the Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs to assess the situation and devise a support plan for the victims’ families.
In an effort to prevent future tragedies, Governor Yusuf urged all motorists, especially heavy-duty vehicle operators, to adhere strictly to traffic regulations and practice safe driving.
