Former President Joe Biden’s Cancer Diagnosis Revealed to Affect His Health Significantly
Former President Joe Biden is experiencing significant pain as prostate cancer has reportedly spread to his bones, according to his son, Hunter Biden. Hunter made this disclosure during an interview with the BBC, which aired on Friday, where he discussed the personal impact of his father’s health challenges on their family.
In a poignant moment, Hunter expressed the emotional toll of witnessing his father’s condition worsen. “The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” he stated. “It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.”
At 83, Biden is the oldest individual to have served as President of the United States. Concerns regarding his age and health have been prevalent during his presidency as well as his campaign for re-election in 2024.
Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis was made public in May 2025, shortly after he exited the White House. Hunter indicated that the family has found the diagnosis particularly challenging, expressing a desire for his father to be more vocal about the difficulties he is encountering.
“It’s really sad to watch,” said Hunter. “The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good.”
Despite his ongoing health struggles, Hunter noted that former President Biden remains active in public life and continues to advocate for issues that are important to him. “He’s still doing his thing,” Hunter remarked. “He so believes in this country.”
In addition to managing his health issues, Biden is preparing to release a memoir titled Promise Me, America, which is anticipated to come out following the U.S. midterm elections.
