Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun has shared the news of her mother’s passing in a heartfelt message on social media. The announcement comes shortly after Balogun recently celebrated her 55th birthday.

According to reports, Balogun’s birthday took place on Thursday, February 5, but she chose to hold a celebration on the following Sunday. Unbeknownst to her, her mother had passed away the day before the planned festivities, with the information withheld from her.

In her post, Balogun expressed that the reality of her mother’s death feels surreal. She described her late mother as her most significant supporter and confidante, noting their deep bond as both a parent and a friend.

Finding solace in her faith, Balogun stated that her family has opted for privacy as they navigate this challenging period. She requested the public to keep her and her siblings in their thoughts and prayers.

Balogun also mentioned that details regarding her mother’s burial will be provided at a later date. In her message, she wrote:

“Dear friends, it was my 55th birthday on Thursday, February 5. However, I chose to have a party yesterday, Sunday. Unbeknownst to me, my beloved mother died on the eve of my party, and the news was cruelly kept away from me. The reality of her passing has not totally dawned on me because she was my cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner wrapped in the invaluable gift of a mother. Whilst I have taken solace in Allah (SWT), the Williams family has decided to keep things very private for now. Your love and prayers will mean a lot to me and my siblings during this period. Burial details will be announced later.”
