Former Senator Shehu Sani Praises President Tinubu’s Focus on Nigeria’s Future
In a televised discussion on TVC’s This Morning program, former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani stated that President Bola Tinubu prioritizes Nigeria’s future over his own political standing.
Sani addressed the topic, “State of the Nation Ahead of the 2027 Elections,” and commented on the challenges faced by previous administrations. “Many presidents have attempted to manage our problems without taking decisive actions that serve the long-term interests of the country,” he said.
He further remarked that Tinubu is the first president willing to confront challenges directly and implement policies that may risk political repercussions. “It’s evident that the President values the country’s future more than his political goodwill. Typically, those in power prioritize public approval and political stability, yet this administration is willing to adopt difficult reforms,” Sani explained.
Sani compared Nigeria’s situation to those of various nations that have undergone substantial changes in their histories, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, Thailand, and South Korea. He noted that transformative decisions, often unpopular and accompanied by sacrifices, are vital for a nation’s advancement.
By taking decisive steps, Sani believes that Tinubu’s administration is acting in the country’s best interest, even amid public backlash.
