Two arrested for allegedly killing elder brother in Imo

Two Brothers Arrested in Alleged Homicide in Imo State

Operatives from the Imo State Police Command have apprehended two brothers, Lucky and Uzoma Amadi, in connection with the death of their elder sibling, Orindu Amadi. Authorities allege the brothers killed Orindu and buried his body in a shallow grave located in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area.

Community members grew suspicious when Lucky and Uzoma claimed Orindu had traveled, yet their accounts of his whereabouts conflicted. Additional concerns emerged as attempts to contact Orindu by phone were unsuccessful. This led local youths to confront the brothers at their family home on Tuesday morning, seeking answers.

An eyewitness, Chidiebube Okeoma, reported that the suspects confessed to the crime when confronted by the gathering of youths. They purportedly claimed that Orindu had been implicated in their father’s death approximately a decade ago, under what they termed questionable circumstances.

Following the confession, the brothers reportedly guided the youths to the shallow grave within their property, where Orindu’s remains were subsequently exhumed. The situation escalated as the youth threatened to administer vigilante justice against the suspects.

Okeoma noted, “It took the timely intervention of policemen from the Mbieri Police Division to save them,” emphasizing that a concerned citizen had alerted law enforcement about the developing situation.

The suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations into the case are ongoing.
