Tinubu should not be assessed based on regional sentiments – Bagudu

Minister Defends President Tinubu’s Leadership Against Regional Criticism

Abubakar Bagudu, Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership on Wednesday, urging citizens to evaluate his performance beyond regional biases.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s “Morning Show,” Bagudu asserted that Tinubu’s reforms are designed to be equitable and beneficial across all regions, including the North.

“Inequitable assessments based on regional sentiments are unfair,” Bagudu stated. He emphasized that Tinubu has consistently pursued a nationalistic approach to governance and that his efforts aim at addressing Nigeria’s numerous challenges.

Bagudu pointed to Tinubu’s history of supporting leaders from various regions, including former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, as evidence of his commitment to national unity.

“The reforms undertaken by President Tinubu are intended to benefit all parts of Nigeria,” he added, highlighting ongoing transformational projects throughout the country.

The minister concluded with hopes that the measures being implemented will help unify the nation and address its longstanding divisions.
