I won’t forgive Abba Yusuf, others for betraying us – Kwankwaso

Former Kano State Governor Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has expressed deep resentment towards the current governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, labeling him a betrayer.

In a video that has circulated widely on social media, Kwankwaso addressed supporters during a courtesy visit in Kano. He conveyed his disappointment, stating that while he is generally inclined to forgive past grievances, he struggles to extend that forgiveness to those he has personally assisted in achieving political success.

“I can forgive those who wronged us in the past, and those who might do so in the future,” Kwankwaso said. “But don’t think I can forgive those whom I helped to become something and ended up betraying us.”

Kwankwaso alleged that several individuals he supported, including advisers, commissioners, ambassadors, and even a governor, later turned against him politically. He pointed out that some of these individuals, despite being listed on the ballot alongside him, opted to back a rival candidate, a decision he regarded as a significant betrayal.

“Some of them became advisers, commissioners, ambassadors, and even governors, and chose to vote for Omologo, not us,” Kwankwaso noted. He emphasized that such actions constituted a serious breach of trust and insisted that he could neither forget nor forgive what he considers to be political betrayal.
