Oyo Govt announces arrest of five terrorists after attack on security base
OYO STATE, Nigeria — The Oyo State government announced the arrest of five suspected terrorists in connection with an attack on a security base in the Oke Ogun area. The attack occurred early Sunday morning along the Igbeti/Igboho Road.
Dotun Oyelade, the Commissioner for Information, confirmed the arrests in a statement released on Monday. He noted that during the incident, the assailants made off with a generator and a motorcycle.
“The suspects were found wearing military uniforms,” Oyelade said, adding that further arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues.
Additionally, Acting Governor Bayo Lawal visited the site of the attack to assess the situation.
Authorities are working to enhance security measures in response to the incident, which raises concerns about the region’s safety.
