Williams Uchemba, others mourn Olu Jacobs, recall how he shaped their childhood
Nigerian actor Williams Uchemba, along with numerous fellow citizens, is mourning the loss of veteran actor Olu Jacobs, reflecting on his significant influence on their childhoods and the entertainment landscape.
In a heartfelt tribute shared on social media, Uchemba characterized Jacobs’s life as “well spent,” concluding with a message: “Rest Well Legend.”
Other users on Instagram joined Uchemba in celebrating Jacobs’s legacy, recalling memorable performances from his extensive career. One user, identified as Deyola, stated, “He made our childhood. May his soul rest in peace.”
Fellow user Oliekun commended Jacobs for his outstanding contributions to the arts, saying, “Thank you for your contribution to the arts, Olu Jacobs. You were one of a kind and will be sorely missed.”
Another Instagram user, Shalomthefavoredone, reminisced about Jacobs’s portrayal of a detective in the television series “The Third Eye,” describing him as “a true legend” whose role was integral to their childhood television experiences. Jacobs’s death was confirmed on Wednesday by his son, Olusoji Jacobs, through a statement posted on Instagram. Olusoji, one of Jacobs’s children with actress Joke Silva, described his father as “The Lion of Lufodo” and urged bloggers and social media users to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.
