“Nigeria is a spoiled child with too many resources” — Patience Ozokwo backs Peter Obi

Nollywood veteran actress Patience Ozokwo, widely known as Mama G, has publicly endorsed Peter Obi in light of the upcoming 2027 general elections, highlighting Nigeria’s untapped resources and the need for significant change in the country.
Speaking at an event organized by “Celebrities for Peter Obi,” Ozokwo expressed her concerns regarding Nigeria’s current state. “I see this country as a spoiled child,” she remarked, indicating that despite the nation’s wealth, it has not leveraged its resources effectively.
Ozokwo emphasized the contrast between Nigeria’s potential and the successes of other nations, stating, “There is nothing God did not provide for us. Other nations, if they had one quarter of what God has given to us, would be in a better position.”
During her address, the actress criticized the stark wealth disparity in Nigeria, noting that a small segment of the population has accumulated substantial resources for future generations, while many continue to face hardships. “Some people in this country have laid up for themselves for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren,” she said.
Additionally, Ozokwo called on her fellow celebrities to recognize their influence and use their public image and integrity to advocate for positive change in the country. “Celebrities here, what we have, we have our faces. We have our integrity,” she stated, urging them to leverage their status for the betterment of Nigeria.
