Preparations Underway for 2026 Almond Insurance Industry Awards

LAGOS — Organizers for the 2026 Almond Insurance Industry Awards are gearing up for what has been described as the insurance sector’s marquee event. Almond Productions Limited has confirmed the preparations are in full swing, promising a night dedicated to honoring excellence within the industry.

In a statement released by Chief Executive Officer Ms. Kesiena Faith Ughwode, the organizers announced an impressive lineup of guest presenters for this year’s awards. Notable figures include Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; Hajiya Queensley Sofuratu Seghosime, the 62nd President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN); Mr. Chidi Onyeukwu Ajaegbu, Managing Director and CEO of Heritage Capital Markets Limited; and Prof. Jacinta Opara, Vice Chancellor of Dominican University. The selection of presenters reflects the organizers’ intent to enhance understanding and appreciation of insurance’s critical role in economic stability.

The Almond Insurance Industry Awards, which began in 2018 to recognize change-makers and innovators in the sector, is scheduled for November 6 at Stable Event Center in Surulere, Lagos. The event will start with a red carpet at 4 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m.

  • Insurance CEO of the Year
  • Insurance Woman of the Year (Insurer or Broker)
  • Life Insurance Company of the Year
  • General Insurance Company of the Year
  • Insurance Broker of the Year
  • Insurance Broking Company of the Year
  • Takaful Company of the Year
  • Micro Insurance Company of the Year
  • Most Valuable Insurance Customer of the Year

Non-Voting Categories:

  • Insurance Life Achievers Award (Insurer or Broker)
  • Special Recognition Award 2026 (Within and Outside the Industry)

Additionally, the organizers have announced Mr. Ope Oredugba, a respected figure in the field, as the recipient of the 2026 Insurance Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Oredugba has significantly impacted the Nigerian insurance landscape through numerous initiatives that continue to benefit the industry.

As part of its tradition, this year’s awards will feature a lineup of renowned Nigerian musicians and comedians, promising an evening of entertainment. The event, a strictly black-tie occasion, is accessible only by ticket admission.
