Governors are not in charge under Tinubu – Kwankwaso
Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), criticized governors affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that they lack true authority.
Kwankwaso’s remarks came during an interview on Arise Television on Tuesday. He expressed a lack of admiration for the governors serving under President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that their influence pales in comparison to that of governors in 1999.
He noted that many current governors enter office with a sense of triumph over their predecessors, which leads them to disregard counsel from others.
“Governors are not in charge. Today’s governors are not as powerful as governors were in 1999,” Kwankwaso stated. “They spend money as they wish, distributing resources among their families, which ultimately results in significant challenges.”
