Man killed, another injured during youth clash in Jigawa
A 20-year-old man, Umar Abdullahi, died following a violent altercation among youths in Rahamanu Village, located in the Aujara District of Jigawa State.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, according to a statement from Badruddeen Tijjani, Public Relations Officer for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State.
Emergency responders were alerted after a member of the Fulani community notified the Aujara Divisional Office about the fight. When NSCDC personnel arrived on the scene, they discovered two individuals suffering from severe injuries. Both victims were transported to the Primary Health Centre in Aujara for medical care.

The NSCDC confirmed that Abdullahi, a resident of the Rahamanu Fulani settlement, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. Another victim, 19-year-old Sule Adamu, who is also from the same settlement, is currently recovering at the health facility.
In connection with the incident, police from the Aujara Division have arrested two suspects. The NSCDC has launched a preliminary investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the fight and to identify all individuals involved.
