Super Eagles Prepare for Next Fixture Following Victory Over Madagascar
UYO, Nigeria — The Super Eagles resumed training Saturday after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Madagascar in their opening match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
Head coach Eric Chelle led the team through a light recovery session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as they shift focus to their upcoming match against Guinea-Bissau.
All 24 players in camp participated in the training, which emphasized recovery after the demanding contest on Friday.
The team is scheduled to intensify preparations on Sunday before departing for Bissau, where they will face the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro.
Guinea-Bissau also opened their qualifying campaign with a 2-0 victory over Tanzania, currently placing them at the top of Group L on goal difference, while Nigeria sits in second position.
In another Matchday 2 fixture within the group, Madagascar will host Tanzania on Tuesday.
