Two seven-year-old boys die after live wire falls on shop in Ondo
Two seven-year-old boys died in Idanre, Ondo State, after being electrocuted by a fallen live electric wire.
The victims, identified as Oloyede Ayo and Clinton Koleola, were inside a shop along Apefon Road when the wire suddenly fell onto the building.
An eyewitness reported that the incident caused panic as the boys attempted to flee the shop following the wire’s fall. While trying to escape, they came into contact with the live wire, leading to their electrocution.
Jimoh Abayomi, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the tragedy. He stated that investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Preliminary findings indicate that the live electric wire fell abruptly on the shop, causing the fatal electrocution.
Abayomi expressed condolences to the families of the deceased, describing the event as a devastating loss. He assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the facts related to the deaths.
