Nigerian Army Rescues Abducted Soldier in Plateau State
Troops from Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have successfully rescued a soldier who had been abducted from the Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATC) in Miango Range, located in the Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Corporal Amos Bala was kidnapped on September 27, 2026, during a routine assignment at the training facility. The circumstances surrounding his abduction prompted an immediate response from military personnel in the region.
Following sustained pressure from OPEP troops, Bala was released by his captors around 9:00 p.m. on September 28. Sources reported that he sustained injuries while in captivity and was promptly transported to the NATC Medical Centre for evaluation and treatment.
After receiving medical care, the soldier was cleared to rejoin his unit. The rescue operation highlights the ongoing commitment of Sector 3 OPEP to locate and secure the safe return of military personnel facing such threats.
