Troops neutralise suspected terrorist, arrest another in Benue
Troops from Sector 1 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) neutralized a suspected terrorist during an operation in the Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State. The operation also resulted in the arrest of another individual believed to be connected to terrorist activities.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported on X that the military operation took place around 8:32 a.m. on September 28 in Kyado. During this engagement, troops confronted militants at the Pevikya terrorist enclave in the Adomanyi region.
Makama noted that several other members of the terrorist group fled the area amid the confrontation. Troops recovered an AK-47 rifle magazine from the scene, which is now in their possession along with the detained suspect for further investigation.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts by OPWS to eliminate terrorist threats and enhance security in vulnerable communities across Benue State, aiming to promote lasting peace in the region.
