Troops foil Fulani bandits kidnap attempt in Kaduna
Nigerian troops from Sector 7 of Operation Enduring Peace successfully thwarted an attempted kidnapping on the Godogodo–Gidan Waya road in the Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The military intervention led to the rescue of a man identified as Baba, who sustained gunshot wounds during the incident.
Details of the situation were shared on Friday by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert specializing in the Lake Chad region. According to security sources, the attempted abduction occurred shortly after midnight on Friday, October 2, 2026, when troops stationed in Godogodo received a distress call reporting the incident.
In response, the troops quickly arrived at the scene, disrupting the kidnapping attempt and compelling the suspects to flee. Baba was evacuated to the General Hospital in Gidan Waya for medical attention following his injuries.
Efforts are currently underway to locate and apprehend the suspects who escaped the scene.
