Actress Chioma Chukwuka announces death of father in emotion laden post

Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha is mourning the passing of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka. The actress shared the news via an emotional post on social media on Friday, October 2, 2026.

In her message, Chioma expressed her struggle to articulate her sorrow, referring to her late father affectionately with terms such as “daddy,” “papa’m,” “obara’m,” and “comfort.”

She also reflected on her mother’s death 13 years ago, stating that the loss of her father has left her without any living parents. “My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord,” she wrote. She added, “I lost my mother 13 years ago, and now that my father is gone, the thought that I have neither parent here anymore breaks my heart in a way I cannot fully explain.”

Chioma acknowledged the long life her father lived, expressing gratitude for the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. She reminisced about the precious moments they shared, particularly in his final days. “No matter how many years we are given with a parent, we still want one more conversation, one more embrace, one more day,” she noted.

The actress stated that she had kept the news private while processing her grief and requested the public to keep her and the entire Chukwuka family in their prayers. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course. Chioma’s mother, Grace Egoyibo Chukwuka, passed away in May 2013.
