Ekiti declares Monday work-free for Teachers to mark world Teachers’ day.
The Ekiti State Government has announced that Monday, October 5, 2026, will be a work-free day for educators in the state, allowing them to fully engage in the celebration of World Teachers’ Day.
Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye, the State Commissioner for Education, made the announcement in a statement on Thursday. The decision aims to provide teachers with the opportunity to participate in various activities that highlight their critical role within the education sector.
As a result, all students in public schools across Ekiti State are advised to remain at home on this date.
The Commissioner urged parents, guardians, and school officials to take note of the arrangement and to plan accordingly.
Dr. Aderiye also praised the commitment and professionalism of Ekiti teachers, acknowledging their essential contributions to shaping the future of students and enhancing the state’s education system.
In conjunction with the upcoming World Teachers’ Day, the Commissioner expressed the State Government’s continued recognition and support for educators, affirming their vital impact on the development of education in Ekiti.
