Benue JNC confirms compliance with national strike directive

The Benue State Joint National Public Negotiating Council (JNC) 1 and 2 has initiated a three-day warning strike, responding to a directive from its national leadership.

State Chairman Engr. Aloysius Umaja announced the strike on Friday, indicating that while the circular from the national body arrived late, members are complying with the directive.

“The directive came yesterday, and we received the formal letter in the evening,” Umaja explained. He acknowledged that late notifications may have impacted compliance levels among some members. “We have distributed the circular to all our members. While there is compliance, I believe some individuals may not have received the information in time.”

Umaja further stated that the strike, which is set to conclude on Sunday, will allow the national leadership to assess the situation and determine subsequent actions.
