Police arrest 30-year-old man over alleged threat to father in Cross River

A 30-year-old man, Daniel Jackson, was arrested by police in Ekori, Yakurr Local Government Area, Cross River State, after allegations of a threat of violence were reported at the Ekori Police Division on Friday.
According to Police Public Relations Officer ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata, law enforcement officials recovered a locally made firearm and two live cartridges from Jackson during the arrest.
The arrest stemmed from a complaint filed by Jackson’s father, who reported that his son threatened him with a firearm on October 1, 2026.
Akata stated that Jackson is currently cooperating with police investigators, and the recovered evidence has been secured for further examination. He assured the public that the investigation will be conducted thoroughly and in accordance with legal standards.
The police official indicated that Jackson would be presented before the court as the case progresses.
