Bauchi Police Arrest Suspect in Murder Case

The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended Abdulrazak Sale Kundang, the principal suspect in the murder of 46-year-old Rilwanu Dauda, who was killed in Karofin Madaki.

The arrest was announced on Tuesday in a statement issued by Police Public Relations Officer SP Nafiu Habib, on behalf of Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu.

According to the statement, Dauda was allegedly attacked and fatally stabbed by Sale and others on July 5, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m. He was subsequently taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi, where he was pronounced dead around 11 a.m.

Sale was arrested on October 5, three months after the incident, following a tip-off from a Good Samaritan. The police indicated that Sale and his associates had previously been linked to a politically motivated murder in the same region before they went into hiding.

Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects still at large. Commissioner Sani-Omolori Aliyu praised the officers involved in the arrest and emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation before the case is forwarded to court.

In a statement, he asserted, “No criminal will have a hiding place in Bauchi State.”
