Nollywood Actress Laide Bakare Raises Concerns for Children’s Safety

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has expressed serious concerns regarding the wellbeing of her children, who are currently in the custody of her ex-husband, Mutairu Atanda Orilowo.

Bakare and Orilowo were married in 2013 and share two sons. The actress’s previous marriage to Olumide Kunfulire ended in divorce in 2012.

In a video posted on Instagram, Bakare accused Orilowo’s wife of mistreating their children. “Sometimes, you don’t take your problems to social media, but when it becomes scary and threatening, you sometimes have to seek help,” she stated.

In her post, she emphasized the urgency of her situation, saying, “This is a difficult call. However, at this point, every necessary step needs to be taken. All I want is my children’s safety.”

Bakare described her distress over not being able to live with her sons, stating, “My baby father has refused the children to be with me. This is a sad reality for me because my boys are not with me.”

She also shared alarming details from a recent phone conversation with her children, during which she alleged that Orilowo’s wife instructed one of the boys to strangle her children rather than cause visible harm.

Bakare accused Orilowo of using custody as a means of retaliation against her and called on the public for support in seeking custody of her children. She claimed to have recorded instances of her children being mistreated.
