Yobe Hisbah arrests six women over alleged prostitution 


The Yobe State Hisbah Commission announced the arrest of six women on suspicion of engaging in commercial sex work during a recent operation in Gadaka, located in the Fika Local Government Area.

The operation, carried out by the commission’s Fika command, focused on the Abuja area of Gadaka. In addition to the arrests, officials also targeted bars suspected of selling or processing alcoholic beverages.

Malam Musa Abari Talba, Head of Administration for the Hisbah Commission in Fika, shared details of the operation with reporters. He noted that officials engaged in sensitization campaigns, warning local residents against activities that contradict the community’s religious and moral standards.

Talba emphasized the importance of promoting good moral conduct and discipline among residents, which he stated is a key aspect of the commission’s mandate to foster peace within the state. Officials encouraged the community to avoid behaviors perceived as harmful and to comply with local laws.
