‘Nigeria’s economy now on stronger footing’ — Information Minister defends Tinubu’s reforms

Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris has defended President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, asserting that Nigeria’s economy is on a more solid foundation three years into the administration.

Idris made his remarks during a press conference held Thursday in Abuja, where he discussed the current state of the economy as well as the government’s forthcoming economic policies.

He emphasized that reforms, such as the elimination of the fuel subsidy, were essential to tackle enduring economic issues and to enhance the country’s financial health.

“Three years into the Renewed Hope Agenda, results are increasingly evident. The economy is on a stronger footing, and stability is creating greater opportunities for investment and enterprise,” Idris stated.

The Minister indicated that the government is transitioning from a phase of reform to one focused on growth, investment, job creation, and improved living conditions.

President Tinubu has outlined this next phase of the administration’s economic program as “From Reform to Prosperity.”

Idris stated that the new focus will center on job creation, expanding opportunities, strengthening businesses, and enhancing the incomes and living standards of Nigerians.
