Okada rider killed, motorcycle stolen in Kaduna

A Kaduna motorcycle rider, Monday Dauda, 40, was found dead on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in the Kasuwa Monday area of Kaduna South Local Government. His body was discovered by family members who had been searching for him after he failed to return home.
Dauda’s family initiated their search when he did not return by his usual time of 6 p.m. They checked local hospitals and police stations, but were unable to locate him. His son, Samson Monday, noted that they became worried when calls to Dauda’s phone went unanswered.
“We thought maybe he was arrested, so we went to police stations and Federal Road Safety Corps offices, but he wasn’t there,” Samson said. “After searching hospitals and the surrounding area, we eventually found his lifeless body.”
Samson reported that his father had sustained multiple bruises.
The deceased’s wife, Jenifer Monday, expressed deep sorrow over her husband’s death. According to her, the family had plans to move back to their hometown in December due to financial difficulties. “My husband was murdered, and his motorcycle was stolen. I don’t know how I will manage with the children,” she lamented, referencing their three children, including a three-month-old daughter.
Jenifer struggled to contain her emotions as she spoke about their situation. “I could never have imagined this. Where do I even begin at this young age?” she asked.
Attempts to obtain further information from the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer were unsuccessful, as the officer’s phone was unavailable.
