Police investigate death of man found with severe genital injury in Taraba
A 30-year-old man, Haruna Ishaka, was found dead following an alleged domestic confrontation in Maigoje village, located in the Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State. The state police command has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The confrontation occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Monday in Mai Idanu Ward, shortly after reports emerged that Ishaka’s 24-year-old wife, Maimuna, was missing.
According to police spokesperson ASP Victor Mshelizah, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was dispatched to the scene to gather more information regarding the man’s death. Ishaka was reportedly discovered with a severe genital injury, which was sustained during the altercation at the couple’s residence. He later died in the early hours of Tuesday.
Mshelizah noted that while initial reports indicate marital disputes may have preceded the incident, the investigators are still working to clarify the exact events that led to the confrontation.
