Oyo State Police Arrest Three Men for Alleged Homosexual Acts in Saki

SAKI, Nigeria — The Oyo State Police Command detained three individuals in Saki on allegations of homosexual conduct, following an intelligence report received by law enforcement authorities.

The suspects have been identified as Ayomide Lukeman, 22; Shuaib Aremu, 22; and Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed, 23. The arrests were confirmed by police spokesperson Ayanlade Olayinka in a statement released on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Authorities stated that they received information on September 29 indicating that a group of individuals were reportedly engaged in “unnatural sexual conduct.” In response, the Commissioner of Police instructed the Monitoring Unit to conduct an investigation, which resulted in the arrests conducted by operatives stationed at the unit’s Saki operational base.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects may have been involved in homosexual acts. According to the police statement, two of the suspects allegedly confessed to having engaged in sexual relations with the third suspect multiple times, whom they referred to as their “wife.”

The police announced that the investigation is ongoing to ascertain the details surrounding the allegations and to determine if any additional individuals were involved.

“The Command assures the public that all necessary investigative procedures will be followed to establish the facts and ensure that appropriate action is taken based on the outcome of the investigation,” the statement read. The police also encouraged the public to provide timely and credible information to assist in crime prevention and detection efforts.
