Lagos Waste Management Authority Distributes Recycling Bins in Osborne Foreshore Estate

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has distributed an additional 59 recycling bins to residents of Osborne Foreshore Estate. This initiative is part of the agency’s efforts to promote waste sorting and recycling through the Waste-Free Lagos Pilot Scheme.

Detailing the distribution, LAWMA announced via its official X account that the bins were delivered on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The event coincided with the collection of recyclable materials from previously provided bins in the community.

Since the initiative began on October 3, 2026, a total of 250 recycling bins have been allocated to various households, as LAWMA seeks to encourage residents to separate recyclable materials from general waste at the source. The authority indicated that the program aims to promote responsible waste disposal and enhance sustainable waste management practices throughout Lagos State.

LAWMA emphasized the importance of community engagement in fostering a culture of recycling and maintaining a cleaner environment. The agency encourages residents to adopt the principles of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste, highlighting that a cleaner Lagos is a collective responsibility.

“Waste-Free Lagos starts with us. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Keep Lagos Clean,” LAWMA stated.
