Zamfara: Notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Dogo Baldu gunned down as rival gangs clash

Bandits affiliated with the notorious kingpin Aleru have reportedly killed rival leader Kachallah Dogo Baldu, according to multiple sources.

Dogo Baldu was gunned down during a violent clash between rival armed groups in eastern Mada. Counter-terrorism expert Zagazola Makama shared the information in a post on X.

Makama indicated that Dogo Baldu’s death occurred amid intense fighting, which also resulted in the deaths of several of his fighters. Eyewitness reports suggest that hostilities are ongoing, raising concerns that additional casualties may occur as the rival factions continue to confront each other.

“The fighting is believed to reflect the ongoing rivalry among armed criminal groups operating in parts of Zamfara State, where factions vie for influence and territorial control,” Makama stated. The total number of casualties from the clashes has not been confirmed at this time.
