Troops arrest four suspected drug peddlers, recover drugs in Borno

Security forces arrested four individuals in Chibok, Borno State, on October 20, as part of an ongoing effort to combat the circulation of illicit drugs in the region. The arrests were announced in a post on X by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama.
Troops from the Headquarters of the 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended the suspects around 5:30 p.m. During the operation, the soldiers recovered substances believed to include codeine, ice, and loud.
The suspects, along with the seized substances, are now in military custody, where they will undergo further investigation and necessary legal proceedings. This operation is part of broader security initiatives aimed at addressing drug trafficking amidst the challenges posed by insurgency and other criminal activities in North-East Nigeria.
