18-year-old housewife allegedly stabs husband over money, phone in Bauchi

DASS, Bauchi State — An 18-year-old woman has been accused of stabbing her 30-year-old husband during a dispute over finances and personal items, including a mobile phone. The incident occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday in Lirr Bajar, located in the Dass Local Government Area.
According to a statement from the Bauchi State Police Command, the argument escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the woman, identified as Fatima Dalha, allegedly wielded a knife and inflicted a stab wound to her husband’s stomach.
Following the incident, police from the Dass Division transported the victim to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
Fatima has been taken into custody, and authorities have recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack. The police have indicated that the case will be forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further examination.
Bauchi State Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu expressed his concern regarding the increasing incidents of domestic violence among young couples. In a statement released by the command’s spokesman, SP Nafiu Habib, he emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully.
“A moment of anger can destroy two lives forever. We urge couples to seek peaceful resolutions through family, elders, and lawful channels, rather than resorting to violence,” Aliyu said.
