Security Agencies Rescue 21 Kidnapped Individuals in Katsina State
KATSINA, Nigeria — Security agencies have successfully rescued 21 individuals who were kidnapped in Katsina State, arresting four suspects in the process. The operation took place in Dutsen Dargaza within the Danmusa Local Government Area.
The rescue was announced in a statement released Saturday by Dr. Nasir Mua’zu, the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs. The operation was led by the Department of State Services (DSS), with support from the military, police, and local vigilante groups.
Among those rescued were 16 women, two men, and three infants, who had been abducted from the residence of the District Head of Bayero in the Musawa Local Government Area, as well as from various other locations. The authorities specifically targeted a hideout belonging to a suspect identified as Kamilu Chiroma, also known as Buzaru.
The statement confirmed that the arrested suspects are currently undergoing investigation and will be charged in court upon the completion of the inquiry.
