Fire Outbreak at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos
LAGOS – The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed a fire outbreak at the old terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Henry Agbebire, FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, stated that authorities are on site managing the incident. He noted that the agency’s emergency response unit has been deployed to mitigate further damage.
“No loss of life has been recorded as a result of this incident,” Agbebire said. “Our firefighting team is actively engaged in controlling the situation, and we will issue a statement shortly.”
Officials have advised passengers and airport users to remain calm as they work to extinguish the fire and assess damage to the facility. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
