Nollywood Actor Okemesi in Coma Following Drug Complications

Nollywood comic actor and content creator Okemesi, whose real name is Bamidele Tope Saint, is in a coma following complications related to medication he received at a hospital. The news was shared by fellow actor Jeff Owolewa, known as Tony Montana, in an Instagram post on Monday night.

This development comes just two days after Okemesi moved into a new apartment, financed by public donations. Over two weeks ago, he had publicly solicited financial assistance after facing health issues that left him homeless.

Owolewa reported that Okemesi was rejected by multiple hospitals before being readmitted to the facility that had previously treated him. He indicated that Okemesi’s condition deteriorated over the weekend, with the actor experiencing significant difficulty eating and sleeping.

“I rushed to his house very early on Monday to take him to the hospital,” Owolewa stated. “He was rejected at several facilities, including a government hospital in Igodo, due to a lack of bed space. I had to take him back to the first private hospital that began his treatment.”

According to Owolewa, Okemesi has been stabilized and is now on oxygen support. “His breathing is improving, but he has been in a coma since Monday morning. We are all praying for his recovery.”

Owolewa urged the public to keep Okemesi in their thoughts and offered a plea for financial support to cover the actor’s medical expenses.
