Rahman Jago, a socialite and associate of Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, has confirmed that the singer has converted to Islam.
Burna Boy, who comes from a Christian background, raised questions about his religious beliefs during a recent podcast, stating that he embraced Islam “at some point” in his pursuit of truth. This revelation fueled speculation regarding his religious affiliation.
In a recent video shared on social media, Jago showcases Burna Boy praising Allah along with others in what appeared to be a bar setting. The post included the caption “Allahu Akbar.” Former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, reposted the video, noting Burna Boy’s evident happiness and wishing him ease in his journey within Islam.
In the comments section, a follower inquired whether Burna Boy had officially converted. Ahmad responded that while some of the singer’s close associates had claimed he converted, Burna Boy himself had not yet confirmed the news. Jago then reiterated the faith transition, stating, “He converted. He is now a Muslim.”
